Bible Study - Philippians 1

S – And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6 ESV

O – Commentary:
What was he so confident and sure of? It was that God would most certainly continue on to completion the good work He had begun in them. That good work was their salvation. It may also have included their fellowship and sharing of their bounties with Paul.
Paul had no doubt that God would continue in the Philippians what He had begun to do in them. God would work in them until the day of Christ Jesus

A – God doesn't start what He won't finish. Salvation happens in a moment, the moment we make Christ Lord. Working it out takes a lifetime. We still wrestle with our human nature, a broken world, and a real enemy. All three hand us moments to sin every day. So what do we do in those moments? We choose thoughts, words, and actions that line up with God's heart and character. That's what it looks like to live out the salvation we received. And here's the good news: we're never doing it alone. The same God who began the work is in every one of those moments, empowering us, providing for us, and carrying us toward the finish line. He started it. He'll complete it.

R – Heavenly Father, You are here. Whatever we face today, empower our thoughts, words, and actions to line up with Your heart and character. We know challenge and opposition are coming. We step into this day with full confidence, because You are with us every moment. You began a good work in us, and You will finish it. Thank You for Your presence, Your power, and Your peace today. Amen.
