Bible Study - Luke 23

S"And the people stood by, watching, but the rulers scoffed at him, saying, 'He saved others; let him save himself, if he is the Christ of God, his Chosen One!'"
Luke 23:35 ESV

O – As the crowd watched, the religious leaders mocked Jesus — pointing out that he had healed and rescued others during his ministry, yet now, if he truly was the Christ of God, surely he would save himself.

A – The deep irony of this moment is that Jesus couldn't save himself — because he was saving others. The Father had given him all authority, and he willingly laid it down to rescue all of humanity from sin. In doing so, he didn't disprove that he was the Christ. He proved it. His refusal to come down from that cross was the most profound demonstration of the heart of God the world has ever witnessed.

R – Heavenly Father, you are Lord of all. Thank you for the sacrifice you made for us in Jesus. His willingness to lay down his life on our behalf is both humbling and breathtaking. Today, we respond to that love — drawing near to you with grateful hearts and open hands. Amen.
