Bible Study - Joshua 20

S — These were the cities designated for all the people of Israel and for the stranger sojourning among them, that anyone who killed a person without intent could flee there, so that he might not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, till he stood before the congregation.

O — The cities of refuge, then, seem to typify Christ to whom sinners, pursued by the avenging Law which decrees judgment and death, may flee for refuge. Paul's frequent expression "in Christ" speaks of the safety and security possessed by every believer.

A — God is our refuge. Sin overwhelms us. Life overwhelms us. Situations pile up faster than we can process them. And God says, "Run here." Not because He's soft on the problem — because of who He is. No equal. No greater power standing over Him. He cares for us. He provides for us. And He has the ability to make His plans for us work, even in the mess. That refuge isn't a hideout. It's a breath. A place to get realigned with Him — then go back out ready to make an impact.

R — Heavenly Father, You are our Refuge. Thank You for giving us a place to run — for protection, for safety, for real rest. We need all of that today. As we face what's ahead, send us out restored and confident in Your work in our lives. Amen.
