Bible Study - I Timothy 2

S – For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time.
1 Timothy 2:5–6 ESV

O – Commentary:
There is one God and therefore one mission encompassing all people (Rom 3:29–30; Gal 3:26–29). Using the phrase one God suggests a fundamental declaration of Christian faith, analogous to the basics of Jewish faith (Deut 6:4). • There is one Mediator of God’s covenant, the man Christ Jesus. He is fully human and fully God, and thus able to reconcile God and humanity ( [complete quote]

A – Some verses need no explaining. This is one of them.

One God. One Mediator. One ransom paid.

Our world says there are many gods and many roads to get there. Pick your path. They all lead to the same place. Paul says no. There is one true God, and there is one way to Him: Jesus. He didn’t just point the way. He paid the price. He gave Himself as a ransom for our sins. Period.

But don’t miss this: He gave Himself as a ransom for all. The door is narrow, but it’s open to everyone.

So here’s the question. Do you just know this, or are you standing on it? Let’s not be believers who simply agree with the truth. Let’s be grounded in it. Let’s live it out every day. And let’s share it with the people around us who desperately need it.

R – Heavenly Father, You are the one true God. Thank You for sending Jesus, the only One who could bring us to You. Make this the foundation we stand on. Give us the strength to live it every day and the courage to share Your love with everyone You put in our path. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
