S — To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: 23 that the Christ must suffer and that, by being the first to rise from the dead, he would proclaim light both to our people and to the Gentiles.”

O — Commentary:
Furthermore, Paul asserted, his message was a fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies (26:22; cf. 24:14; 28:23), concerning the death and resurrection of the Messiah. Frequently in Acts, the apostles also spoke of Christ's resurrection.

A — Resurrection from the dead. Jesus as the promised Christ. Both are hard to swallow.

Paul knew it. He said it anyway.

Here's the danger: we live in a culture that says "yes" to almost anything spiritual, as long as it doesn't cost us much. We nod at resurrection. We nod at Christ. But do we let it change how we live?

Easy agreement isn't the same as real faith. When God's truth stops challenging us, we've probably traded it for something easier.

R — Father, you alone are God.

Open our eyes to see you clearly — not the version culture hands us, not the version that's comfortable.

Keep us from trading your truth for something easier to swallow.

Make us your ambassadors today.
