Bible Study - Titus 2
S - Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity, 8 and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us.
Titus 2:7-8 ESV
O - Commentary:
He must strive to “show himself” an example (typos, “pattern”) to all (but esp. to the other young men) in every good work (cf. 1 Tim. 4:15–16). In his public ministry of teaching Titus must show an integrity, seriousness, and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned. Paul was always concerned lest those who oppose be provided ammunition for their attacks. Far better, said the apostle, that they be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us

A – Paul tells his young leader to be an example. Not just a teacher. An example.
Examples are powerful. They take a principle off the page and put it on display. For good or bad, the person watching says, “I can do that.”
Someone is watching you. Your kids. Your team. Your neighbor. The question isn’t whether you’re a model. It’s what kind.
Paul gives us the list: integrity, dignity, sound speech. Thoughts, words, and actions that line up. That’s where honor is built.
And here’s the good news. The world doesn’t need a perfect example. It needs an honest one. A life that’s genuine when things go right and genuine when they don’t. That’s a model people will follow.
Who’s watching you today?
R – Heavenly Father, You are holy. You are true and just in all Your ways. Empower us to walk with You today in integrity, dignity, and character. Let our thoughts, words, and actions line up with Your heart. Make us a living model of Your love for the people around us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
