Bible Study - Romans 4

S - No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his faith was “counted to him as righteousness.” But the words “it was counted to him” were not written for his sake alone, but for ours also. It will be counted to us who believe in him who raised from the dead Jesus our Lord, who was delivered up for our trespasses and raised for our justification.

O - Commentary:

Abraham experienced the life-giving power of God in the birth of his son, Isaac. Christians witness it in the resurrection of Jesus. Throughout history, salvation has been available only through faith in God, who makes and keeps his promises.

A - Faith isn't a transaction. You don't earn it, and you can't perform your way into it. Abraham didn't have proof — he had God's promise. That was enough. It still is. Salvation has always worked the same way: you believe, and God counts it as righteousness. Not because your faith is strong, but because His promise is trustworthy. So ask yourself — is God really Lord over your whole life, or just the parts you can control? Faith means putting Him back in His rightful place.

R - Heavenly Father, You are God. There's no one above You, and nothing is too hard for You. Strengthen our faith today. Grow it daily. Help us know You more and honor You as Lord over every part of our lives — not just the easy parts. Thank You for revealing Yourself to us so we can walk with You in relationship, every single day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
