Bible Study - Joshua 11

S — So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had spoken to Moses. And Joshua gave it for an inheritance to Israel according to their tribal allotments. And the land had rest from war.
Joshua 11:23 ESV

O — God wanted the people of Israel to experience the spiritual, cultural, and emotional rest of a right relationship with him and each other, not just the physical rest of living in a secure and abundant land.

New Living Translation Study Bible (Carol Stream, IL: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., 2008), Jos 1:13.

A — Joshua didn't do half of what God said. He didn't do most of what God said. He obeyed completely. Every command, every time. That's the kind of discipline that leads to victory. Because Joshua followed all the way through, the land God promised back in 1:13 became a reality. And it wasn't just about square footage — it was about rest. Real rest. The kind that only comes from being right with God. Here's the question for you and me: are we obeying part-way, or all the way? Because full obedience is what unlocks full rest.

R — Heavenly Father, you are faithful. Every promise you make, you keep — especially the ones tied to the directions you give us. Thank you for the rest that's waiting on the other side of full obedience. Help me follow you completely, not partially, so I can walk in the rest you've already provided.
